About Time, Huh?

Well it turns out that the wife is right and I haven't posted from my own account in a while. Where do I begin?

Married life so far has been pretty good. What I don't get is the half-joking comments I get from other guys about the "difficulty" of marriage. I've been congratulated by so many people but I've had a few folks warn me about how hard marriage can be. Marriage can probably get complicated with kids and jobs and moving and extended family and other distractions. But the thing is, if you don't marry the right person, then you're in a bind right from the beginning.

Most of the people who describe their own marriages falling apart make me wonder if they just picked the wrong person from the inception. I'm a big advocate of getting married to someone if you're absolutely sure they're the perfect person for you. But if there's even the slightest doubt, maybe it makes sense to wait. Of course, each individual case is different and unique, but sometimes, it makes sense to give yourself the best shot at success by waiting.

Anyway, I think I did pretty well for myself :-) Hopefully we'll get to have lunch together today. We'll see how the day plays out.

  1. Good for you!!! I've been married for 28 years, together for 32. I married my best friend, and all these years later...although there have been trials along the way (and their will be for you...trust me on that one!)...I love him even more today than when I married him! He's like a shiny diamond that gets dusty every once in a while, but with a little bit of elbow grease is back to NEW again!!! Congratulations on one month in the rest of your life..together! ^_^
