17 days!

Yesterday, we met with our new DJ. He reminds me of Danny DeVito in Twins. He seems really nice. He also seems like he understands what we are looking for. The pianist called today. He LOVES Broadway! Dave and i told him to simply have a good time with it play what he likes. (Of course, we gave both the DJ and the pianist some suggestions...)

Today, we went to Oyster Bay Town Hall to get our Marriage License. It went smoothly and we have the license. In the process of getting the license we learned that the church has lost my Baptismal Certificate. (If you know what I went through to get it to begin with, you understand how frustrating this is.) So, I called the church where I was baptized to obtain a new one. Hopefully it will be here in a few days.

This morning was particularly nice because we got to spend some time together. We even had down time to relax and enjoy some breakfast together. It was nice to spend the morning together. I can't wait until the honeymoon when we have a few days to relax.

Each day that goes by makes it more and more real.

This afternoon, I got to spend the day with my friend Donna and my flower girl Olivia. We had a good time talking over wedding details and making the lighthouse to hold the cards. I can't wait to see the finished product.

On Saturday, we will be meeting with the priest to go over the liturgy.

Less than three weeks!

This weekend we hit the three week mark! On Friday, I went to the dress place with Carolyn, Justine, Mom, Laura (Mom's friend), & Ellen (Mom's friend and Carolyn's Mom). It was definitely an interesting trip. The seamstress had some difficulty altering the dresses the last time we were there. There still had to be changes made to all three dresses before the wedding day. Everyone will go to pick up their dresses the week before the wedding beginning on the 10th. To ease the tension, Laura brought a HUGE bottle of Champagne to the dress fitting! She shared with the other girl who came to try on wedding dresses for the first time with her mom. She was so excited. There was lots of girlie giggling. After the dress fitting party, we headed down the road to Friday's to grab a bite to eat and share a few more laughs.

Saturday was the bachelorette party. Justine, Carolyn, Diane, and I started the day with massages at the Elizabeth Arden Spa. It was wonderful! The spa was beautiful! From there we headed to Mario's to grab a quick bite to eat before getting a manicure/pedicure at my favorite nail salon! Sara was able to join us! It was nice to be able to spend some time together without running around. After the manicure/pedicure, all of us boarded the LIRR and headed to Bourbon Street for dinner. It was a blast! The food was yummy! The atmosphere was great! The hurricanes were bountiful! Karen, Megan, Katie P., and Liz met us there to join in the fun. After dinner we headed across the street to Swing 46 for some swing dancing, dessert, drinks, and fun! It was a wonderful way to end the evening filled with many laughs. (Pictures are posted on Facebook.)

Sunday was Andrew and Christopher's graduation party at the house. Dave and I got to spend the day with family and friends celebrating their accomplishments. It was a lot of fun to be with everyone despite the 95 degree weather. While at the party Dave and I spoke with my cousins who have been married for 57 years. It was wonderful to see them talking with us about their marriage. As they spoke, they put their arms around each other and had the most wonderful smiles on their faces.

Less than 24 days!

We have officially passed the one month mark! On Sunday, two of our very good friends got engaged!! Last night, we went to the Mets v. Tigers game at Citifield. Today, we received an air conditioner from the MLHS people. Things are just wonderful!

We are so excited to start our life together in a few short weeks. Things are starting to come together. I am beginning to wonder what I am going to do with my time after the wedding. I will be off from work...no grad school...and no wedding planning. I guess it will be time to relax and enjoy!!!

Saturday is my bachelorette party! I am super excited to celebrate with my friends! It should be a wonderful day.

Less than 40 days!

On Monday we passed the 40 day mark! Also on Monday, I went to try on my dress for the last time until the week of the wedding! Over the weekend, the date passed for the RSVPs! Its all becoming so real. I can't wait.

On Saturday, Dave had his bachelor party with the groomsmen. They had a beautiful day at Citifield. The Mets even won! While the boys were gallivanting, Justine and I got the favors together for the wedding and picked out the centerpieces for the tables for the cocktail hour at the reception.

These next couple of weeks are going to fly by!
