12 Days To Go

Today is our extra day off. Apparently since the 4th fell on a Sunday, Independence Day is observed today. I suppose we will relax and try to take advantage of the fact that I'm not stuck at the office.

It's kind of odd to not have any guaranteed free time in the summer anymore. I remember always counting on long days and late mornings when I was in school. Back then, I could plan trips to see the Girl pretty easily, since I was usually off from internships by August. Nowadays, though, everything has to be planned in advance.

I guess that means I better do something fun today. I hope the heat wave comes this week and that we get beautiful weather for the wedding. Now it's really starting to become "crunch time."
